Vision & Values

Our vision as a church family is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our local community
and the wider town.  We want to see our parish of Sands & Castlefield transformed by the message of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The following words would describe our church:

Bible-based: We believe that the Bible is God’s written word for us and that it is authoritative on
all matters.  Our church teaching is grounded in the Bible and it determines our practices and beliefs.

Spirit-led:  We believe that the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit are present and active in the
Church today, just as they were in the New Testament.  We desire to be led by the Holy Spirit
and filled with His power in all areas of our lives.

Missional: We believe that the Church exists for the sake of the World and that followers of
Jesus are called to share His Good News with all people.  We seek to be an ‘outward focussed’
church that is sent by God to love and serve our local community.

Anglican:  We take seriously our membership of the Church of England and the wider Anglican
Communion and we work in close partnership with our Bishops and our Diocese.  We hold to
the tenets of Anglican doctrine as expressed in the Thirty Nine Articles of Religion.

Planning your Visit

Join In

We believe that Church is about much more than a Sunday gathering.  Church is God’s family, and families ‘do life’ together.
We encourage everyone in our church to get involved in some form of group or community that meets during the week.
We have a range to choose from.

Missional Communities

Missional Communities are small to mid-sized groups that meet to share their lives together around a common focus. Missional Communities will be rooted in a rhythm of praying together, reading the Bible and meeting in one another’s home regularly. Importantly though, they will also have a strong ‘outward focus’ and a desire to connect with a particular group of people with whom they can share the Good News of Jesus through friendship and a shared life.
A Missional Community might be based around a particular locality, or a common interest or a stage of life, and with have several at our church.  Speak to one of the Team for more details.

Small Groups

We run a couple of different Small Groups for those who really want to ‘go deeper’ in their faith.  These include a Bible Study Group and a group which is dedicated to prayer and the prophetic.

Social Groups

We also have a number of groups that have a more social flavour and are aimed at simply connecting people together around a shared activity.  These groups meet at different times and locations and can change throughout the year.
